The word “persecution” means “to pursue.” For a genuine Christian, there is no way to escape from persecution. As Paul said in 2 Timothy 3:12, “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.” Genuine, Bible-believing Christians will always be pursued; endlessly, mercilessly pursued.
Here, in the United States, we (Christians) have been extremely fortunate to live our lives peacefully, without having to risk our lives for our faith. We, however, are the exception. The rest of the world is the rule.
