Last nights Republican Presidential Debate turned out to be one of the most exciting evenings I’ve had in quite some time in regards to observing the political machine. Myself, and many others, stayed up way too late hammering out twitter #hashtags lavishing praise on the man of the evening, Texas Senator Ted Cruz. I am sure I am not the only one who couldn’t seem to find quite enough coffee today.
Senator Cruz called into question the substance of the CNBC moderators questions. His actions served to galvanize the will of GOP Candidates as a whole in a powerful demonstration of his ability to lead, laying waste to the no-name panel of left wing propagandists in what some are calling one of the greatest moments in American Presidential Debate history.
Below is a transcript of that particular portion of the debate.
CRUZ: You know, let me say something at the outset. The questions that have been asked so far in this debate illustrate why the American people don’t trust the media.
(APPLAUSE) This is not a cage match. And, you look at the questions — “Donald Trump, are you a comic-book villain?” “Ben Carson, can you do math?” “John Kasich, will you insult two people over here?” “Marco Rubio, why don’t you resign?” “Jeb Bush, why have your numbers fallen?”
How about talking about the substantive issues the people care about?
QUINTANILLA: (inaudible) do we get credit (inaudible)?
CRUZ: And Carl — Carl, I’m not finished yet.
CRUZ: The contrast with the Democratic debate, where every fawning question from the media was, “Which of you is more handsome and why?”
And let me be clear.
QUINTANILLA: So, this is a question about (inaudible), which you have 30 seconds left to answer, should you choose to do so.
CRUZ: Let me be clear. The men and women on this stage have more ideas, more experience, more common sense than every participant in the Democratic debate. That debate reflected a debate between the Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks.
And nobody watching at home believed that any of the moderators had any intention of voting in a Republican primary. The questions that are being asked shouldn’t be trying to get people to tear into each other. It should be what are your substantive positions…
If one took a close look at the Colorado sky this morning you could still see the outline of a Star Spangled Mushroom cloud hanging in the atmosphere from Ted Cruz’ nuke of the CNBC panel. Ted Cruz made the most glaring and obvious case for Media Bias (in the midst of it happening) that has been articulated to date that I am aware of.
If anyone happened to have any doubts as to whether the main stream media is biased towards one party or the other, last night gave incontrovertible proof that CNBC , MSNBC, NBC, CNN, and others have but one directive: Protect the DNC, and Destroy the GOP.
They have no interest in what’s best for the poor, they have no interest in women’s health, they have no interest in whatever they imagine climate change may or may not be doing. The Praetorian Guard media is only interested in retaining power, and lining their own pockets with lobbyists funds, while making true Conservatives seem selfish and uncaring.
The GOP is far from perfect, and as a Christian I am well aware that many are liars and thieves. However, their values as a whole still most closely reflect my own.
Ted Cruz’ record and life are politically spotless. There are no skeletons in his closet, and there are no surprises forthcoming it would seem. Ted Cruz has stood against the elements of the GOP Establishment that I disagree with, the immoral backroom deals, the self serving legislation, and the lies. He hasn’t yet been able to gain enough backing from the rest of the party to claim any major victories in those fights, but at least he’s fighting.
Boehner and McConnell have caved to literally every desire of the Left, lied to their constituents, and pathetically and falsely claimed “there is nothing we can do”. Senator Cruz’ peers sit on their hands afraid to act as Ted wades through the sewers of DC slaying Beltway Zombies with a pocketknife, alone. Last night he unleashed a nuclear blast that America will not soon forget and solidified his position in the hearts and minds of many as the man most suited to take down the Clinton machine and truly make America great again. He actually knows how!
